Creating historical costumes for re-enacting and role playing is what gave Sarah her passion in sewing. Whether you need something historically accurate or more theatrical, she can help. At Sarah Day, we use high-quality fabrics for all our historical costumes. We also do a great deal of hand sewing to give it that perfect finish.

Please note that the prices vary depending on materials and level of detailing. The prices below are a rough guide and include materials, sourcing and fittings.
Men’s doublet (as pictured): £460
Men’s paned hose (as pictured): £290
Men’s Velvet shoulder cloak (velvet, wool lined with gold trim): £95
Ladies bodied Kirtle (worn underneath the French gown, faced with silk damask and silk lined): £340
Ladies French gown (Silk taffeta lined with silk, with slashed detail and slashed and puffed shoulder rolls): £390
Reversible forepart and sleeves (other side slashed and beaded to match sleeves): £140
Ladies Black work Partlett (hand embroidered- the roses take nearly 3 hours each): £2400

Neck ruffs (linen with machine black worked edges, hand finished*): £60

Spanish Farthingale with metal boning and velvet ribbon casings (unlined linen): £65

*Machine black working of the edges can be very effective, or lace edging them (which can safely be attached by machine), eliminates a lot of costly hand hemming so fancy ruffs can actually be cheaper.

**These are proper ruffs- starched and set by hand, not just ribbon pleated onto a wide band and they require care and careful storage.
